Baseball

Team Baseball registration opens early in the calendar year. The KNBSB baseball Spring season runs from April through June, with the Fall season running from mid-August through the end of October. 

ABF, in affiliation with SV Wassenaar, sponsors teams which compete in the Dutch baseball league (KNBSB). League play requires a level of commitment to the team, both from the player and the parents, for practice and being available to play scheduled games. Play in the higher levels of the Dutch league requires higher fees to cover league registration, umpiring fees, field usage fees, insurance and training expenses.

Registration fees: Registration fees are used to cover the actual costs of administering what is otherwise an all-volunteer program and club. Baseball Program costs include facility usage / maintenance fee (ABF and SV Wassenaar fees); KNBSB participation fee, umpiring, Gemeente Wassenaar levy, liability insurance and club administrative costs (website, payment portal, bank charges, etc).

Uniforms:
Jerseys are included in the annual registration fee and will be provided to players for the season. Jerseys must be returned at the end of the season.
Due to hygiene considerations, hats must be purchased separately (as a separate product).

Baseball practice (starts week of March 16, 2026)
Location: ABF fields located at Ammonslaantje 1, 2241 BP, Wassenaar
Timing: Once weekly on Wednesdays 5:30 - 6:30pm for age group 4-9; Once weekly
on Thursday 5:30 - 6:30pm for age group 10-12
Uniform requirements: Whatever you can get them to wear.

Games
Game schedule: TBC; awaiting KNBSB to publish; games are played Saturday
mornings; majority of games will be played by age group 10-12; SV Wassenaar will help
to coordinate a few scrimmages for age group 4-9 throughout the season.

Home games: Played at SV Wassenaar, Charlottestraat 7, 2245 VW, Wassenaar

Away games: Will be announced once the schedule is released

Uniform requirements: Issued jersey, hat, grey color baseball and cleats.

What you need to prepare:
- Baseball glove
- Baseball hat (mandatory for games; optional for practice)
- Grey baseball pants (mandatory for games; optional for practice)

Dues are for the season (March – October) along with payment to the Dutch baseball
foundation (KNBSB), club member fees, field maintenance and club operating fees.

*age determined by 2026 minus birth year for the player
