Dutch League Baseball
The ABF sponsors teams which compete in the Dutch baseball league here in Holland. League play requires a higher level of commitment by the player and the parents to the team for practice and play than recreational league. Practice is an integral part of the team experience. Play in the higher levels of the Dutch league requires higher fees to cover league registration, officiating fees and training expenses.
Recreational Baseball
Ages 5-8 with beginner to intermediate skills and is instructional with no real games. All sessions are practice sessions and take place at 09:00 every Saturday. A soft safety ball is used for the practices. Practices will begin early April. No traveling is involved and all practices are at ABF. The sessions are only in the Spring. Registration fee is 85 euros.
Indians Minor league (Coach pitch baseball)
Ages 8-12 with beginner or intermediate level skills. Games are played in the Dutch, KNBSB, league and usually travel within a 25 mile radius. Games are on the weekends and you can expect to have a practice session during the week after school. A soft safety ball is used for this league and is Coach (underhand) pitch. Games will begin in mid April or just after the April school break. Registration fee is 175 euros.
Red Sox Major League (Kid Pitch Baseball)
Ages 8-12 with intermediate to advanced level of skill. Games are played in the Dutch, KNBSB, league and usually travel within a 40 mile radius. Games are on the weekends and you can expect to have a practice session during the week after school. A soft safety ball is used for this league and is kid pitch. Games will begin in mid April or just after the April school break. Registration fee is 200 euros.
Season
The season will begin in early April and continue to the middle of June when we break for the summer. League play will resume again in late August until the end of September. So, a complete season for the older kids is Spring and Fall with a one time fee.
Dutch League Uniforms
All Players competing on the ABF sponsored Dutch League teams are required to purchase a complete uniform. To minimize the expense of the League Play the ABF teams have not changed uniforms for several years. ABF Jersey – Official ABF Jersey for the uniform. €50
ABF Baseball Jersey. If you are a returning player and you may need a larger jersey.
Please note the Jerseys are very durable and hold up for many seasons. You may also be able to find a used jersey on ASH Buy/Sell. Just check to be sure the jersey is in reasonable condition.

Typically there are 18 to 20 games in a complete season (spring and fall). Sport fee: €225 + €60 membership fee. Fee includes league registration, officiating and trainer fees.
Parking
If you park in the ABF parking lot, PLEASE PARK IN THE APPROPRIATE PARKING SPOTS. The curb areas as you enter the parking lot are not legitimate parking spots.
Parking in these spots makes it difficult for other cars to enter/exit the facility and creates a dangerous situation for people walking to and from their cars

volunteers
ABF is a volunteer organization. It is completely run by volunteers. Everyone who becomes a member is expected to help out in some way—from coaching to planning events to administering programs to helping set-up or clean-up the fields or courts and so much more. Without volunteers, our club can’t run successful programs. Please let us know how you’d like to help!
